Humanoid robots for automotive assembly and quality inspection

24/07/2026

Automotive manufacturing combines repetitive handling, demanding inspections and frequent product variants. Humanoid mobility, vision and manipulation can complement fixed automation while reducing exposure to low-ergonomy tasks.

Technology and context

UBTECH has demonstrated Walker robots in automotive environments for material handling, assembly support and quality inspection. Walker S2 adds bimanual manipulation, stereo vision and autonomous battery swapping for multi-shift operations.

How Humatrix is developing this use case

Humatrix is developing Walker S2 pilots for workstation feeding, bin transport, visual presence checks and structured quality-data capture. We first map tolerances, variants, cycle times, routes and production-system interfaces.

Responsible deployment

The pilot begins with one part family and one supervised workstation. Repeatability, quality and safety must be proven before the solution expands to other variants or lines.

UBTECH Robotics manufactures Walker S2. Humatrix develops and integrates the use case for Iberian manufacturers.
